The lovely and supremely awesome [profile] red_canna is coming to visit us this weekend (squee!), and while she's here she'd like to meet up with an old friend of hers.  Said old friend lives way the hell out in Western Mass., so they're looking at meeting in Worcester for coffee-ish type things.  Any of you folks Worcester-conversant enough to be able to suggest a kid-friendly and easy-to-find coffee-type place in or around there?  Or even anything Mass Pike-ish between there and here? [info]red_canna would be eternally grateful for any suggestions you might have.  Thanks, y'all!

There's a panera a little east of worcester in shrewsbury, and one in westborough as well?

Where in western MA is her friend?

Panera seems like it might work, but I'll let her respond herself.., :)

Thanks, you! *smooch*

Hi Cat :)
She's coming from Northampton and I'll have my not-so-quiet 1yr old with me. A Panera type place with a playground nextdoor would be ideal!

Northampton is pretty fabulous and might be worth the drive all the way out there...

It is a bit of a hike, about an hour and a half drive (well, maybe closer to two hours from Arlington) but it's certainly gorgeous and has lots of neat places to visit. If you're interested in making a day trip of it some time, I highly recommend that.

Northampton is beautiful! I grew up on the Cape and went to school in the Berkshires :) It's just too far to go this weekend considering baby and time constraints...next trip, I hope!

I'm asking [livejournal.com profile] majes who works in Worcester. I'll let you know (or he might reply himself).

Tatnuck Bookseller and Cafe in Westborough is pretty nice. Their pages there don't do it justice -- as I recall, it's a pretty cozy, welcoming spot.

Wholly Canolli on 122 might be worth your while. That's on the eastern side of Worcester proper. First exit past 495, take a left off the exit, then follow the main road about four miles. It'll be on your left just past the CVS and bank.
