One of the big cool features which I think will make many people happy:

If you've already downloaded a song for the original "Rock Band" — at about $1.99 per track, which can't be transferred to an MP3 player — it will immediately be loaded into your "Rock Band 2" song list without needing to be repurchased or re-downloaded. It's the first time such retroactive compatibility has been introduced in a music game.

Exciting news!

My favourite part of that interview had nothing to do with Rock Band, ironically -- I loved that he tells the interviewer to buy some Triple J Hottest 100 CD's. Triple J FTW! And hey, maybe this means more Australian content for RB2?

Thinking over the track list for RB2 (which, of course, I'm not allowed to divulge details of yet lest I be beheaded by the Harmonix Corporate Privacy Ninjas), I don't recall any more Austrailian bands in RB2. A couple, I think, but nothing substantial.

But don't give up hope! We recently released a "Euro Pack" of songs for download made up exclusively of European bands, so it's certainly possible that we could do an "Aussie Pack" at some point in the future! :)
