I'm missing part of my family's life while I'm away, and that saddens me greatly--as much or more as all of the other sadness I've had to bear the last three days. Seeing my father laid up in a hospital bed with an oxygen mask covering his face just so he could breathe. Seeing my beloved hometown beaten and broken and places that have meant so much to me changed forever or simply gone.

I want to go home.

Thanks for the sympathy and well-wishes, all. I'm back home, which improves my mood considerably, and my dad's slowly getting better, which helps a whole bunch, too. :)
