Today's wonderful snippet of National Novel Writing Month Goodness:

"Yeah, I know. I'm sorry, Charlotte, I realize this bit of dialogue really makes absolutely no sense within the context of what's gone on so far in the story. Would you like to change topics of conversation?"

"That's probably for the best, yeah."

They walked a little bit farther in silence while the author thought of something else for them to talk about.

Some of my favorite parts of NaNo are the weird little bits I throw in there to keep myself moving, knowing they'll never survive editing. I think because I know they won't stick in later drafts, it lets me a bit goofier than I tend to be otherwise when writing. :)
