Do any of you Boston-area live music fans have any information or opinions about any of the following venues:

* Centre for Arts in Natick
* The Nave Gallery in Somerville
* The Lilypad in Cambridge

Specifically, do you have any opinions on their suitability for housing a concert performance by a singer playing an acoustic piano?  Or do you have any other suggestions for (probably small-ish) venues which might be suitable for said such performance?

I was going to post about TCAN (The Center for the Arts in Natick), but realized I didn't have much useful to say, as I've only been there for kid-related events, even though they have concerts I would have loved to go to if I had the time.

That said, I think it's an nice, cute little venue, and quite convenient for us metro-west folks. Very convenient to the commuter rail, but unfortunately the commuter rail is not very convenient for anything but the standard commute.

Hey, give us 9-12 months and we'll probably be ready to host something in our common house. :-)

no info about the first two, but The Lily Pad is a decent venue. you rent the room for an absurdly low price, charge whatever you want for tickets, and pocket the entire difference. capacity is like 100, but it works well for smaller crowd drawing audiences.

Thanks for the info, hon! I'm looking for any feedback I can get so I can pass it on to The Appropriate People, and this is info I can pass on. :)

Somehow I thought you might have some good info about one or more of these places. :)

I'll definitely pass along your info about the Lily Pad -- I have a feeling a capacity of 100 might be perfect for an artist not particularly well known 'round these parts just yet. Thanks, b!

I can only speak about TCAN (The Center for the Arts in Natick) and it is eminently suitable for acoustic piano.
