Reminder that if you're only reading my LJ, you're not really gettin' all'a me. (Lately, it seems, you're gettin' none'a me, but.) To keep up with everything going on in my head, or at least the stuff I bother to take out of my head and put onto the webbernet, you really should subscribe to doordonot_feed, the syndicated version of my blog, Do or Do Not.

Also: Am I the only person not going to Arisia? Jeez. All the cool kids are going (even rintrahroars, hopefully) while I'll be sitting at home with my mom, who'll be visiting from Alabama that weekend. I am such a loser.

Well, bringing my mom (an unappealing thought in and of itself) would also mean bringing the kids with us. And I'm pretty sure that the types of experiences I would be looking for at Arisia would not be enhanced by the presence of my mother and two small children. :)

Yeah, it does, but I'm going to go ahead and pencil myself in for Arisia 2007, so that's something to look forward to. :)

Alternate childcare with your wife? My husband will be watching my daughter when I'm off doing Highly Inappropriate things...

Or just have your mom take the kids off to the museum!

Sadly, I think we're only going to have the opportunity to spring one of us for any period of time--and I'd rather she get to go than me. It's OK, I'll just live vicariously through her experiences.

And (perhaps more sadly)...I really wouldn't feel comfortable leaving my mom alone with the kids. She's not really up for watching two rambunctious little ones by herself. Though don't think I didn't give it some thought. :)

I've only got the one child, and she's old enough to not give a babysitter trouble. Makes her own dinner and everything.

Aaaah, someday... (and "someday" probably isn't even that far away--the older one's almost four, so we're gettin' there!).

And can I assume that your userpic there is your daughter? If so, she looks completely adorable! I consider myself something of an "adorable daughter" expert, what with having two of my own. :)
